Today, you will learn how to crochet this Chibi and oh-so-cute miniature Princess Snow White plushie with a step-by-step tutorial + a written pattern as well. Including all crochet “character plushies,” this is also designed using the crochet “no-sew buddy base.” If this Christmas, you are looking for an irresistible last-minute crochet gift for a little girl, be sure you crochet this little Princess Snow White plushie. We will cleverly crochet the iconic red, blue & yellow costume of Princess Snow White, including her hair, without sewing in this pattern. Along with the familiar bobble stitch and color-changing techniques, this crochet Snow White plushie also uses surface stitching to make its ruffled dress.

Tutorial to Crochet A Miniature Snow White Plushie

Skill Level: Beginner (Level 5)

This project is a small, soft doll. You make the doll from the feet up to the head in one piece. You do not sew arms or legs on later. You change yarn colors to make her dress, skin, and hair. You will crochet her skirt, a hairband, and a small bow right onto the finished doll.

Materials

Plush Yarn (Super Bulky / Category 6): Yellow, Red, Blue, Beige (Skin Color), and Black.
Crochet Hook: 4.0 mm.
Safety Eyes: 10 mm.
Stuffing: Fiberfill.
Embroidery Thread/Yarn: Thin black thread for the eyelashes and mouth, thin white thread for eye details.
Tools: Yarn needle and scissors.

Abbreviations

MR = Magic Ring
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec = decrease (sc 2 together)
sl st = slip stitch
ch = chain
dc3tog = double crochet 3 together in the same stitch (cluster of 3 dc)
BLO = Back loops only
FLO = Front loops only

Pattern

Body & Head Start with Yellow yarn.

R1: 8 sc in a MR. (8 sts)
R2: 8 inc. (16 sts)
R3 (Legs): 4 sc, 1 sc but do not finish it. Change to Red yarn. Make the first leg: 1 dc3tog. Change back to Yellow. 3 sc, 1 sc but do not finish it. Change to Red yarn. Make the second leg: 1 dc3tog. Change back to Yellow. 5 sc. (16 sts)
R4: 1 sc in each st around. (16 sts) Finish the last stitch of the round with Blue yarn. Do not cut the yellow yarn; leave it in the front to use later for the skirt.
R5 (Arms): With Blue yarn and working in BLO for the first 6 stitches: 5 sc, 1 sc but do not finish it. Change to Beige yarn. Make the first arm in both loops: 1 dc3tog. Change back to Blue yarn. 1 sc, 1 sc but do not finish it. Change to Beige yarn. Make the second arm: 1 dc3tog. Change back to Blue yarn. 6 sc. (16 sts)
R6: (2 sc, dec) 4 times. (12 sts)
Stop and make the skirt using the Yellow yarn you left in the front. Turn the doll upside down. Attach the yellow yarn to the remaining front loops of R4. Make 1 inc in every stitch around (32 sts). Fasten off yellow.
R7 (Head): Change to Beige yarn. 12 inc. (24 sts) Finish the last stitch with Black yarn.
R8: With Black yarn: 6 sc, 1 sc but do not finish it. Change to Beige yarn. 9 sc, 1 sc but do not finish it. Change to Black yarn. 7 sc. (24 sts)
R9: With Black yarn, working in BLO: 7 sc. Change to Beige yarn, working in both loops: 10 sc. Change to Black yarn, working in BLO: 7 sc. (24 sts)
R10: With Black yarn, in both loops: 7 sc. Change to Beige yarn: 10 sc. Change to Black yarn: 7 sc. (24 sts)
Insert 10 mm safety eyes between R9 and R10.
R11: With Black yarn: (2 sc, dec) 2 times. Change to Beige yarn: (2 sc, dec) 2 times, 2 sc, start a dec but do not finish it. Change to Black yarn. Finish the dec, (2 sc, dec). (18 sts)
Stuff the body and head firmly with fiberfill.
R12: With Black yarn only: (1 sc, dec) 6 times. (12 sts)
R13: 6 dec. (6 sts)
Finish body: Fasten off, weave the yarn tail through the front loops of the remaining 6 stitches, pull tight to close the hole, and hide the end inside the body.

Hair Details (Back of Head)

Turn the toy so the back of the head is facing you. Find the remaining front loops from R8 and R9 (where you worked the black yarn in BLO).
Attach Black yarn to a front loop.
(ch 3, starting in the 2nd ch from hook: 2 sc, sl st into the next front loop on the head) repeat this across the exposed front loops to create small curls/hair texture in the back.
Continue making sc stitches around the side edges of the black hair area on the head to frame the face nicely.

Headband and Bow

Headband: Use Red yarn. Make a line of slip stitches directly across the top of the head (over the black hair part) to create the headband look.
Bow: Make a MR (or ch 3). Into the ring/first ch: (1 dc, ch 2, sl st, ch 2, 1 dc, ch 2, sl st).
Cut the yarn, leaving a tail. Wrap the tail around the center of the bow a few times, then sew it onto the red headband on the doll’s head.

Facial Details

Use a needle and yarn to sculpt the eyes (insert the needle from the bottom of head to the eye, pull slightly, and secure).
Embroider small white accents under the eyes.
Embroider black eyelashes.
Embroider a small nose using Beige yarn and a tiny smile using red or black thread.
