Tutorial to Crochet the Mickey Mouse & Minnie Pouch Plushie

Learn to crochet a pair of cute, handmade plush mice styled as Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Difficulty Level

  • Level: Easy / Beginner-Friendly

  • Explanation: This project is considered easy because the main body, head, and limbs are crocheted continuously as a single piece. Since separate body parts do not need to be sewn onto the torso, the traditional challenge of alignment and assembly is completely avoided.

Materials

  • Plush yarn in the main color (approx. 100 g / 120 m)

  • Contrast yarn for outfits (red for shorts, pink or another color for the dress)

  • Beige or peach yarn for the facial muzzle

  • Black yarn for the ears, feet, and arms

  • Crochet hook (size 4 mm)

  • Toy stuffing (polyfill)

  • Safety eyes (size 10 mm)

  • Plastic nose (size 7 x 9 mm)

  • Scissors and a yarn needle for weaving ends

Pattern Abbreviations

  • MR: Magic Ring

  • SC: Single Crochet

  • INC: Increase

  • DEC: Decrease

  • DC: Double Crochet

  • CH: Chain

  • SL ST: Slip Stitch

Detailed Stitch Instructions: 3-DC Cluster (Arm, Ear, and Horn Shaping)

To form the limbs, ears, and features, a special cluster stitch is worked into a single chain space or loop:

  1. Five chain stitches are worked to form a small loop or starting base.

  2. Into the third chain from the hook, three double crochets are worked so that they share a common top (vertex).

  3. The yarn is wrapped around the hook, inserted into the designated stitch, and pulled through, repeating this process three times to create three unfinished double crochets.

  4. Finally, yarn is wrapped and pulled through all remaining loops on the hook at once to close the cluster into a solid shape before securing it with slip stitches.
