Part 1: The Scoop (Frankenstein Head)

Worked in continuous rounds from top to bottom.

Start with Black Yarn (Hair):

  • Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)

  • Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12)

  • Rnd 3: [1 sc, inc] 6 times. (18)

  • Rnd 4: [2 sc, inc] 6 times. (24)

  • Rnd 6–10: Sc in each st around. (30 sts for 5 rounds)

  • Rnd 11: [3 sc, dec] 6 times. (24)

  • Rnd 12 (The Ruffle): Work in FLO for this round. [Sl st in next st, skip 1 st, 4 hdc in next st, skip 1 st] repeat around to create the ruffled ice cream edge. Fasten off green yarn.

Part 2: The Cone

Attach Light Brown Yarn to the first unworked Back Loop from Rnd 11, behind the green ruffle.

  • Rnd 13: Working in BLO of Rnd 11, sc in each st around. (24)

Assembly!

  1. Facial Feature Attachment:

    • Eyes: Place black safety eyes between Rnds 7 and 8 of the green section, spaced roughly 4 to 5 stitches apart. Secure backings before closing/stuffing.

    • Mouth: Using black thread or yarn, embroider a curved “V” or gentle “U” shape smile centered between the eyes on Rnd 8–9.

    • Cheeks: Add small horizontal stitches with pink yarn (or glue small pink felt circles) just outside the lower outer edges of each eye.

    • Forehead Scar: Using light brown or tan yarn, stitch a diagonal line above the left eye (across Rnds 6–7) and cross it with 2 small vertical cross-bar stitches to create a classic Frankenstein scar.

  2. Bolts Attachment:

    • Lightly stuff the bolts if using option 1 (or leave un-stuffed if held firm).

    • Sew one bolt onto each side of the green scoop at Rnd 8–9 (level with or slightly below the eyes).

  3. Witch Hat Attachment:

    • Lightly stuff the top cone of the witch hat to help keep its shape.

    • Position the hat at an angle on top of the black hair section, tilted toward the right side.

    • Using the long purple tail, stitch around the inner underside of the brim directly onto the black hair section of the scoop.
