Now, learn how to crochet a spooky zombie jellyfish that is worked around the zombie ghost amigurumi with this FEATURED step-by-step tutorial. This crochet Halloween ghost-like jellyfish is a part of the “summer + Halloween” amigurumi series, and this is probably the 4th part. Crochet it as a front door hanging decoration for a Halloween gift as a snuggler.

This crochet spooky jellyfish amigurumi that you can also crochet as a snuggler plushie has a crochet brain outside, one cross-stitch eye, a sewn wound, and curly tentacles in dark red, green, and pink. All these features make it a definitely spooky Halloween present for kids.

The base pattern to crochet this Halloween jellyfish is the same as the amigurumi candy corn jellyfish. And the head pattern is from the no-sw zombie ghost amigurumi design. You can also crochet it in white with a witch hat (soon, gonna present that variation, too), to turn it into a baby ghost jellyfish amigurumi. Crochet Halloween Jellyfish with Zombie Features Tutorial

Learn how to make a zombie jellyfish toy using yarn. You start by making the top of the jellyfish with green yarn. You make a magic ring and single crochet in rounds. You increase stitches to make it bigger, then decrease stitches to make it smaller. Before closing, you add a safety eye and stuff the toy. You sew a black eye and a scar.

You add red yarn for a frill. Next, you chain stitches to make curly green tentacles and straight pink tentacles, and red tentacles. Finally, you sew a pink chain for a zombie brain.

Why: You will have to neatly change yarn colors, working in the Front Loops Only (FLO) and Back Loops Only (BLO). You will also need assembly, including free-hand embroidering the facial features and coiling a chain to create the brain.

Difficult Stitches Explained

Front Loop Only (FLO) and Back Loop Only (BLO)

The frill requires working in the Front Loop Only, while leaving the Back Loops free to attach the red yarn later.

If you look at the top of your stitches, they form a “V” shape with two loops.
To crochet in the FLO: Insert your hook only under the strand of the “V” that is closest to you.
To crochet in the BLO: Insert your hook only under the strand of the “V” that is furthest away from you.
