Show Support for Heather!
This Halloween, if you are looking for a UNIQUE Halloween character hybrid amigurumi, learn how to crochet this kawaii zombie ghost amigurumi plush! It also looks like a spooky Halloween octopus amigurumi, which means you are combining 3 themes! With the crochet pink brain bulb, the cross-stitch eye & green, it is the BEST Halloween present. The main body of this crochet zombie baby ghost is no-sew, so I recommend using the chenille yarn to crochet it as a softie.
It is so small and quick that you can easily crochet one within 30 minutes if you are a regular crocheter. You can also crochet the other variations in the series, such as the pumpkin hat ghost, the rose-decorated witch hat ghost, and more in Heather’s series.
Unlike the classical ghost, it is not a puppet ghost, as we shall close the bottom. So, you can also stuff it and use it as a bag charm! You can also crochet it in colors like purple, just like the witch pot of eyeballs. Anyway, continue reading to learn more about this Halloween project.

Crochet Zombie Octopus Baby Ghost Amigurumi Tutorial
Let’s learn how to crochet a zombie octopus ghost amigurumi. You start by making the green ghost body using a magic ring and basic increase rounds. Next, you crochet a shell border along the bottom using half double crochets in the front loops.
Then, you close the base by crocheting decreases in the remaining back loops and stuffing the toy.
For the face, you add one safety eye, stitch an “X” for the second eye, and embroider a black scar. Finally, you crochet a pink chain, sew it on top for a brain, and outline it with red yarn.

Difficulty Level
Easy / Advanced Beginner
You will need basic stitches like single crochet, increases, and decreases. However, it requires crocheting a shell edging in the front loops only (FLO) and then closing the base by working into the unworked back loops (BLO).
Embroidering the brain and facial details also requires some sewing and placement skills, making it suitable for an advanced beginner.

Pattern Abbreviations Used
- MR: Magic Ring
- sc: Single Crochet

- FLO: Front Loop Only
- BLO: Back Loop Only

Materials Needed
- Worsted weight yarn in green and pink
- Small amount of black, red, and white yarn (for embroidery)
- 3.5 mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Stitch marker
- One 12 mm safety eye
- Scissors
- Fiberfill stuffing
How to Make the Difficult Stitches
Shell Edging (Half Double Crochet in Front Loop Only)
- This is used to make the wavy bottom of the ghost.
- Find the front loop of the next stitch (the loop closest to you).
- Yarn over your hook.
- Insert your hook under the front loop only.
- Pull up a loop (you now have three loops on the hook).
- Yarn over and pull through all three loops. This makes one half double crochet.
- Repeat steps 2-5 four more times in the same front loop to create a 5-hdc shell.
- Skip the next stitch, then slip stitch in the front loop of the stitch after that.
