This is the 3rd crochet spooky bao bun plush of this week’s crochet tester call. One remains, so now let’s learn how to crochet this UNIQUE crochet skull bao bun plush with a REALLY spooky-cute crochet face, following a FREE written pattern for all skill levels.
This is one of the easiest crochet spooky food plushies of this year, as you don’t need extra small parts such as the ones you crocheted in last week’s crochet red buddy dumpling plush.
You will have equal fun crocheting this spooky-cute dumpling plush, too, for someone dear in your life. I especially like its oversized eyes and the red stitch-wound embroidery. We will also want to add some makeup blush to the cheeks. Now, continue reading to learn more about this crochet plush bao bun spooky project for Halloween.

Oversized Eyes: 16mm to 18mm plastic safety eyes to achieve that dramatic, adorable gaze.
Embroidery: Dark red and black semi-cotton yarn (like YarnArt Jeans).

| R12 | In FLO only: (inc, 1 sc) all the way around. Fasten off. | 12 |
Note on closing the hole: Weave a piece of semi-cotton yarn through the remaining unworked back loops of R11, pull tightly to seal the top flat, and hide the threads inside.
Spooky Face Assembly
Eye Placement: Insert the oversized 16mm–18mm eyes between R7 and R8, leaving exactly 6 stitches between them.
Nose: Using black semi-cotton yarn, embroider a tiny inverted “V” centered directly between the eyes.
Stitched Mouth: With dark red yarn, stitch a wide horizontal curve spanning just past the outer edges of the eyes. Add 5 to 6 small vertical cross-stitches evenly along the line.
Scar & Cheeks: Embroider a small diagonal red line with two cross-stitches above the right eye. Use a brush to gently dab real pink blush beneath both eyes.
Black Basket Container
| Round | Instructions (Black Plush Yarn) | Total Stitches |
| R1 | 8 sc in MR | 8 |
| R2 | 8 inc | 16 |
| R3 | (1 sc, inc) repeat 8 times | 24 |

| R6 | 36 sc in BLO | 36 |
| R7-R8 | 36 sc (2 rounds total) | 36 |
Finishing Parts: Cut the yarn and hide the end for the top lid. Do not cut the yarn for the bottom base.
