This is part four of the “Crochet Festival Turtle” plushies series! I have already shared the turtle plushies for spring and fall festivals. So, today, learn how to crochet this UNIQUE tiered Christmas tree turtle shell medium-sized turtle plushie with a step-by-step tutorial by my favorite twins. This crochet holiday turtle plushie is an irresistible present with its big glittery eyes, the 3-tier Christmas tree shell with the ruffled white edging, and a star applique on the top. With super-bulky yarn, you can crochet this turtle plushie as a last-minute gift.

The best part (well, there is!)? It’s completely NO-SEW (just like the daffodil turtle and the pumpkin turtle). Crocheting this Christmas tree turtle plush would be easier for even beginners, and I am sure it is the case thanks to the stitch-by-stitch video tutorial + English instructions.

To crochet this festive turtle plushie, we shall start with the same crochet sea turtle parts, including the sphere head and semi-circle flappers. You can also crochet this turtle plushie around our previously shared crochet Christmas tree with lighting buddy plushie. You can also attach pom poms in many colors around the crochet turtle tree, or even crochet it in different shades of green. Anyway, continue reading to learn more about this COOLEST turtle plush variation!

Tutorial to crochet the Festive Christmas Tree Plushie

This tutorial teaches how to crochet a no-sew Christmas tree turtle. You start by making four fins and one head. For these, you crochet in rounds, add eyes, stuff the head, and pinch the ends closed. Next, you crochet the tree shell using half double crochets and work in the third loops.

While making the shell, you attach the fins and head directly by crocheting them together. After stuffing and closing the bottom, you crochet pointy prickles on the shell ridges. Finally, you add a white snow border and crochet a mini star to attach to the top.

Difficulty Level

Intermediate. The difficulty is intermediate because you must join multiple pieces together while crocheting the body to avoid sewing. It also requires making half double crochets and working into the hidden third loop to create raised ridges, which takes strong stitch recognition.
