Halloween last-minute crochet GIFT challenge? Learn how to crochet this cute, little & no-sew jumping spider that can be crocheted within 20 – 30 minutes. This is an 8-legged and 6-eyed grey spider plushie that works up incredibly fast and easy. This is even quicker than the no-sew chubby spider plushie pattern I shared last week. You can also crochet it with the variegated yarn just like the big spider plush.
Just like the chubby spider plushie, the idea to crochet the jumping spider plushie is to work top down, crocheting the legs and fangs as you go. The popular no-sew technique, bottle stitch hdc2tog, will also be used on your way to crochet fangs.

You will need 6 eyes in two different sizes to make the iconic eyes of the jumping spider plushie. Use it as a keychain, bag charm, addition to a crochet Halloween pumpkin decoration plushie, or just because! I also recommend crocheting one in black, purple, or pink. Anyway, continue reading for the full learning of how to crochet this spider.

Pattern to Crochet a PERFECT Jumping Spider Plushie
This crochet jumpkin spider is worked in one piece, working from the top down. Crochet the legs directly into the body using chains and slip stitches, then shape the front with hdc2tog stitches. Insert the safety eyes before closing the body.

Work the final round into the remaining back loops to close the underside, then stuff lightly with fibrefill to keep the body slightly flat.
Pull the opening closed with the yarn tail, weave in the ends, and shape the spider so the legs sit evenly and the body rests flat.

Assembly & Finishing
1. Eye Placement
Large Eyes: Insert the two large guard eyes between Rounds 3 and 4, with 1 sc space between them. Secure the backings inside the head.
Small Eyes: Place one small eye on the outer side of each large eye. Place one more small eye above each large eye (creating a triangle cluster on each side).

2. Closing the Bottom
Round 6: Working in the remaining inner loops (back loops) left behind from Round 5:
8 dec around. (8)
Fasten off, leaving a medium-length tail.

3. Stuffing
Fill the spider with fiberfill stuffing through the bottom hole. Do not overstuff; you want it to remain slightly flat so it can sit.
4. Sealing
Using your yarn needle, thread the tail through the final 8 stitches. Pull tight to close the circle. Hide the thread by weaving it through the body and cutting it close to the piece.
