For this year’s festivals, learn how to crochet these googly-eyed stuffed star doll amigurumi in purple, blue, or pink. Welcome to another part of the “road to crochet festive prep” pattern series. Today, we are crocheting these puffy star charms with legs and arms, just like the fidget crochet amigurumi, and a googly eye, just like the soot sprite. These small, quick-win, and lively crochet star buddies and Christmas hangings can be crocheted using both the video tutorial and a written pattern. Finish one crochet star buddy

These crochet leggy star charms are also playable like the fidget toys. Just pull the legs, and they will become longer, but the arms will become shorter. This will be a satisfying, stress-free way to crochet with their star charms for kids and adults alike.

We shall crochet the star charm body by joining two puffy star appliques. So you can also turn it into a Christmas tree star charm to attach at the top. We shall crochet the hands and feet by making the popcorn stitch. The googly eyes are crocheted separately and attached with hot glue. Overall, it is my 100% recommendation as a crochet hanging and bag charm star amigurumi. So, continue reading below for the full crochet pattern to make this Christmas-cute star.

Pattern to Crochet Star Buddy Keychain

In this project, you will crochet a small star. First, you make two flat stars. Next, you make arms and legs. You pull the string through the star body so the arms and legs can move. You add small white circles and black dots for eyes. Then, you sew the two stars together and fill the star with soft fluff. You also add a long loop to the top. The final toy is a fun keychain that hangs from your bag or keys.

  • Fasten off. Pull the ends tight and use your needle to hide the yarn tails inside the puff stitches. Make 2 identical strings.

White Eye Bases (Make 2 pieces) (Using white yarn)

  • Round 1: Make a Magic Ring, Ch 1. Work 8 SC into the ring. Pull the ring tight. Sl st to the first SC.

  • Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Keychain Loop

  • Sl st back into the same first stitch where you attached the yarn. Ch 1 and fasten off.

  • Tie the two yarn tails tightly together on the inside (back side) of the star to secure the loop.

Assembly

  1. Eyes: Sew the white eye bases to the front of one star piece. Attach or glue your 5mm black eyes to the center of the white circles.

  2. Join the Stars: Place the two star pieces together with the right sides facing out. Using a needle and yarn, sew the two pieces together by sewing through the Back Loops Only (BLO) of both pieces along the edges.

  3. Insert Limbs: Before sewing the star completely closed, thread your arm string horizontally through the middle of the star. Thread the leg string horizontally near the bottom of the star. Make sure the puff stitches are on the outside and the string can slide left and right.

  4. Stuff: Lightly fill the inside of the star with stuffing.

  5. Finish: Sew the rest of the star completely closed and weave in any remaining loose ends.
