Let yourself carry a crochet bag that is relevant with the changing season or based on your CURRENTLY favorite character and festival with these free crochet themed bag patterns. I am gonna include any bag I find themed in any way in this discussion, so it is gonna be grown larger very soon.
For now, learn how to crochet a bunny bag for anytime, watermelon pouch for summer, strawberry pouch for spring and carrot bag for autumn. These are all oh-so cute, still fully functional and all-age crochet bags.
As for the types, I have chosen zipper, magnetic strap and buttoned bags that all include the crossbody and even adjustable handles. Learn how to crochet half I-cord, Romanian cord, button-hole handle and many handles with these tutorials. Finally, something I like a lot and that is the crochet bag charms from watermelon to flower and more! So, be sure to try them!
Crochet Bunny Pouch

This crochet CUTE rabbit face pouch is an 18cm by 18cm crossbody bag with two pockets so you can keep phone, card and money separately. To close both the pockets together, there is the rabbit tail ball in the back and a small chain stitch loop. Just wrap insert the loop through the ball.
Crab stitch edging aka reverse single crochet, sewn-on mouth and eyes and tapestried blush and ear-pink, make it look the CUTEST. If you like Miffy, you are gonna love this crochet bag.
Learn crocheting that openwork adjustable strap with a 2-minute tutorial after this crochet bag. Or crochet an I-cord if you want it simple and quick. The default strap will have button holes all around, so you can adjust it as much as you wish.
Crochet Flower Bag Pouch

Before the April ends, be sure to crochet this round daisy pouch set which includes a phone bag and a smaller earphone pouch. You can attach the smaller to the Romanian cord strap of the bigger pouch as a charm.
This is a crochet zipper bag finished with a beautiful ribbing that makes each petal look more 3D. Crochet it using 2mm cotton yarn and 3.5mm crochet hook by first crocheting the middle side with 20cm zipper. Then crochet side panels and attach using slip stitch!
I recommend crocheting the sunflower version using the yellow for the petals and brown for the middle. While summer is also in air, with this color idea, you will end up with an even brighter and elegant crochet bag for spring.
Crochet Watermelon Bag Pouch

Let’s crochet the MOST ELEGANT watermelon slice shoulder purse with this pattern. This bag has a magnetic button strap, Romanian cord handle and can be crocheted with the watermelon and a flower bag charm.
I have shared the tutorial for ”full & half watermelon keychain” in 2nd part of summer bag charm series. Be sure to check that later! As for the overlapping-petal flower charm, you can learn crocheting that in the same tutorial.
I like the use of granny stripe stitch worked in rounds for the flesh part of the watermelon and the striped sections along the same row. The makes it easily the best crochet watermelon I have ever covered. Wanna try? Yes, please!
Crochet A Strawberry Bag

Again for spring and summer both, crochet this lacy puff stitch strawberry pouch with both handbag handle and sling crossbody string. It is small, so use it as an AirPod pouch. With the 2mm ”hollow cotton yarn”, it ends up with a a beautiful texture on strand scale.
You can easily find the hollow cotton yarn with the name of lace cotton yarn, line thread and round strand yarn. To clarify again, all the pouches discussed before are also crocheted using the hollow cotton yarn.
It is worked top down starting with the green handle to the tip of the strawberry. You can also crochet the popular ”puffy flower” as a charm for this pouch. Learn crocheting the charm in the same tutorial.
Crochet Radish & Carrot Pouch

For fall, save this tutorial to crochet a beautiful leggy carrot zipper pouch with double chain handle! This bag has a beautiful texture of cluster single crochet that includes extended single crochet in the middle.
That solid, puffy and super elegant texture also requires working with two yarn strands to crochet the whole.
You can either crochet a gradient carrot or solid carrot, but I like the first one more. To make it leggy, crochet spheres with chain legs and attach! You can also attach eyes to make it even more cuter.
