Special / Complex Stitch Guides

1. 4-dc Bobble / Paw Stitch (with Color Switch)

The paws are worked in Round 3 using a 4-double-crochet cluster in contrasting white yarn:

  1. Switch to Contrast Color: In the sc immediately preceding the leg, work until 2 loops remain on your hook. Yarn over with the white yarn and pull through both loops to complete the color change.

  2. Work 4 Incomplete Double Crochets:

    • Yarn over with white, insert the hook into the indicated stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through 2 loops (2 loops remain).

    • Repeat 3 more times into the exact same stitch until you have 5 loops on your hook.

  3. Close and Switch Back: Drop the white yarn. Yarn over with the main body color and pull through all 5 loops on the hook to close the cluster into a rounded paw.

  4. Continue with the next stitch in the main color, pushing the bobble outward to the front.
