How to Crochet 2 Versions of Skull Amigurumi Plush
Let’s crochet a cute amigurumi plush skull keychain that measures about 8 centimeters. It works up very quickly using soft plush yarn for the main skull and thinner yarn for the detailed facial features.
You can easily customize your keychain by making the eyes different sizes, or even turning one of the eyes into a colorful flower for a quirky, unique look. It makes a perfect little handmade gift or a cool accessory to attach to your backpack or keys!
Materials Needed
- Plush yarn (like Himalaya Dolphin Baby) in light green, gray, or your color of choice for the main skull.
- YarnArt Jeans (or any sport-weight cotton-blend yarn) in black for the eyes, nose, and mouth.
- YarnArt Jeans in bright pink (or any contrasting color) for the flower eye option.
- 4.0 mm crochet hook (for the plush skull).
- 2.5 mm crochet hook (for the eyes).
- Tapestry needle for sewing details.
- Stitch marker to keep track of rounds.
- Scissors.
- Holofiber or toy stuffing.
- Keychain ring with a carabiner.

- Join with a sl st to the beginning. Fasten off, leaving a long pink and black tail for sewing

Assembly and Details:
- Place the eyes symmetrically on the front of the skull. You can mix and match by using one Large Eye and one Small Eye, or one Large Eye and one Flower Eye.
- Sew the eyes onto the skull using the long yarn tails. For the flower eye, only sew through the black center part, leaving the pink petals free to pop out.
- Using black yarn and your tapestry needle, embroider an upside-down “V” shape for the nose directly between the eyes.
- Embroider a wide smile with small vertical lines (to mimic teeth) across it, placing it lower on the face between Rounds 4 and 5 of the skull.
- Once all facial features are complete, finish Rounds 14-16 of the skull and stuff it.
- Attach the keychain ring or carabiner securely to the top center of the finished skull.
