This is the 3rd pattern variation of the crochet mini palm-buddy turtle plushie from the “tester call” series. Today, test this crochet white, yellow, and orange turtle plushie that perfectly makes an easy variation of a crochet candy corn turtle plushie! 1. FLIPPERS & LEGS (Make 4 – All in Bright Orange) Worked in continuous rounds. Make all 4 limbs first so they can be crocheted directly into the body during assembly.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr (6)
Rnd 2: [1 sc, inc] x 3 (9)
Rnd 3–5: sc in each st around (9)
Rnd 6: [1 sc, dec] x 3 (6) Flatten the opening and sl st across to close the top. Fasten off and weave in ends (no stuffing needed).
2. HEAD (In Bright Orange) Worked in continuous rounds.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr (6)
Rnd 2: inc in each st around (12)
Rnd 3: [1 sc, inc] x 6 (18)
Rnd 4–6: sc in each st around (18) Insert paw print safety eyes between Rnds 4 and 5, spaced about 4 stitches apart.
Rnd 7: [1 sc, dec] x 6 (12) Stuff the head firmly. Change to White yarn on the last stitch. Do not fasten off.
3. TRICOLOR SHELL & NO-SEW BODY
Rnd 8 (White): sc around (12), attaching the head to the body base.
Rnd 9 (White): [1 sc, inc] x 6 (18)
Change to Bright Orange yarn
Rnd 10 (Orange – Attach Flippers & Legs): Work [2 sc, inc] x 6 while crocheting through both the body and the 4 flattened flippers/legs spaced evenly: Front Flippers on the sides near the head, Back Legs toward the rear (24)
Rnd 11 (Orange): [3 sc, inc] x 6 (30)
Change to Yellow yarn
Rnd 12 (Yellow): Working in FLO for a distinct shell edge rim: [4 sc, inc] x 6 (36)
Rnd 13–14 (Yellow): sc in each st around (36)
Rnd 15 (Yellow): Working in BLO: [4 sc, dec] x 6 (30)
Rnd 16 (Yellow): [3 sc, dec] x 6 (24) Add stuffing into the center body base.
