Quick to crochet and irresistibly CUTE, a small crochet fish will definitely be your ULTIMATE SUMMER BUDDY! So, I am starting the “Crochet Fish” series with these mini fish patterns.
All of these are miniature fish bag charms and no-sew, easy, and super customizable. In fact, you will find more than 3 color ideas for each of the fish patterns.
For now, you will be able to find a pattern for a radgoll fish, the viral striped triangle fish, unstuffed grilled fish, and also a goldfish keychain. There is also afish pouch idea, which IS MY FAVORITE, here!
Crochet a Colorful Fish

First, let’s crochet these simple and miniature ragdoll fish bag charms! Will be a 20-minute amigurumi and can also be crocheted with self-striping rainbow yarn or solid one such as pink and yellow, too. Similarly, you can also use two-color eyes instead of black safety beads.
This is still a no-sew amigurumi, even though worked in back-and-forth rows to crochet two joined pieces.
The recipe to crochet such a complicated shape is to use stitches of different heights, such as single, half double, double, and treble crochet. For such a small fish, use 5ply cotton yarn in your favorite color!
Crochet the Tropical Fish Keychain

The “triangle fish” is the MOST recreated crochet fish variation. The only difference designers usually make is the color combination; the pattern is always the same! So, even if you tried one before, I still recommend crocheting this lace yarn tropical fish bag charm, as it has the best color inspiration!
And the idea is to crochet a trio and make a garland bag charm. Blue tail and body stripes, deep pink fin, and a pastel multicolor yarn body are the combo you will dream of.
With lace yarn, you will end up with pretty, smaller fish, so I recommend using at least DK yarn. Luckily, this is a no-sew amigurumi with the fins and the tail crocheted as you go by working in the stitches of the body.
- Yarn: Lace #3 yarn in various colors.
- Hook: 1.8mm crochet hook.
Crochet the Unstuffed Fish

Let’s crochet a small and simple but oh-so cute crochet fish with appealing embroidery and no stuffing needed. Aqua, brown, honey, beige, and yellow are definitely the nicest colors for this flat fish amigurumi.
Instead of safety beads, you can also embroider a cross and make an accessory for a cat amigurumi doll.
If you use a dark color like brown, be sure to contrast it with yellow for the embroidery. Talking about embroidery, it sew zig zag over the body, and three lines over the tail.
Crochet the Earbud Pouch Fish

Let’s next crochet this ELEGANT Koi fish purse that has colorful crocodile stitch scales, colored button eyes, and a mesh tail. This unique design is inspired by the Japanese illustrations of dragons and fish and has been viral. But this variation is way easier, of medium size, and cuter.
As I mentioned, the 3D scales and mesh tail make it so special. This is a drawstring pouch and bag charm that you can use as supplemetry bag for AirPods, coins, and currency.
In the Japanese culture, such bags are called Lucky Bags, so you will be delighted to have one. Also, pass the strings through pearls and make tassels in the end. I recommend the aqua and pink scale color!
Crochet the Round Fish

This CUTE puffy goldfish keychain is made by working in JUST two rounds! Bobble stitch worked in rounds makes it 3D, even by crocheting it in rounds. The eyes are also crocheted and require just 1 round of single crochet.
Combining all the work, this will take no more than 10 minutes. Crochet it in orange and yellow or two shades of pink. Definitely the easiest and most adorable thing you can crochet this summer!
