Since my first tester call of this year, I have been thinking of designing a UNIQUE anti-stress buddy for spooky festivals! Finally, here is the PATTERN to crochet a funny googly-eyed witch Mr. Sphere fidget buddy plushie that you can learn to crochet with a FREE written pattern.
It is designed as a leggy toy plushie, but with the unique twist of the twisted cotton cord legs and arms with the crochet ball hands and feet.
Because the limbs are multi-stranded and colorful, this is the CUTEST crochet fidget toy you will crochet this Halloween. And the small crochet witch hat pattern comes as a bonus! Now, keep reading to learn more about this plush anti-stress project!

Felt & Facial Detailing
Eyes:
Cut two large circles out of white felt (~1 inch / 2.5 cm diameter).
Poke a tiny slit in the center of each felt circle and insert the post of a safety eye through it.
Insert the eye posts through the main body between Rnds 6 and 7, spaced about 3 stitches apart. Secure washers inside the body before completing Rnd 10.
Using black yarn/floss and a needle, embroider radiating stitch lines around the upper perimeter of the white felt circles for the eyelashes.
Mouth:
Cut a horizontal oval out of purple felt.
Embroider a straight horizontal line across the center of the purple oval using white yarn or thread.
Sew or glue the mouth centered directly below the eyes.
Multi-Strand Cord Arms & Legs Guide
Instead of crocheting traditional solid arms and legs, bundles of worsted yarn strands are passed directly through the body sphere to create floppy, fidget-friendly limbs.
1. Preparing the Yarn Bundles
Arms Bundle: Cut 8 strands of worsted yarn (4 Black, 4 Purple), each approximately 18–20 inches long.
Legs Bundle: Cut 8 strands of worsted yarn (4 Black, 4 Purple), each approximately 22–24 inches long.
2. Threading Cords Through Body

LEGS LEGS
Arm Placement:
Fold the 8-strand Arm Bundle in half or gather the middle using a yarn needle.
Insert a long needle or latch hook horizontally into one side of the body (between Rnds 6 and 7) and push it straight through to the opposite side.
Pull the entire 8-strand bundle halfway through so an equal length of purple/black strands hangs down on the left and right sides.
Leg Placement:
Thread the 8-strand Leg Bundle through the bottom curve of the body sphere (around Rnd 10 or 11).
Pass half the strands through the bottom left exit point and the other half through the bottom right exit point, leaving even hanging bundles for both legs.
Full Assembly Instructions
Attach Mini Sphere Hands & Feet:
Take the multi-strand bundle end for one arm and thread it into the opening of a mini sphere (Rnd 6).
Tie the yarn strands together into a thick double knot inside the mini sphere.
Add a small pinch of fiberfill into the mini sphere around the knot.
Thread the remaining plush tail onto your needle, cinch the 6 stitches of Rnd 6 snugly around the yarn bundle, knot, and weave the tail into the hand.
Repeat for the second hand and both feet.
Attach the Witch Hat:
Position the crocheted witch hat tilted slightly to one side on top of the body (covering Rnds 2–4).
Lightly stuff the cone of the hat.
Sew the brim securely to the top of the body sphere using the long purple yarn tail.
