Today, I am back with another crochet PLUSHIE tutorial from my favorite “crochet fidget no-sew plushies” series. While last week, too, I shared two tutorials to crochet a caterpillar toy, today you will learn to crochet the easiest and the CUTEST pair of crochet caterpillar insect plushies. And luckily, it is also no-sew, and you can gift this caterpillar pair to a couple.

The idea is to crochet a green caterpillar plush with two-color eyes and either blue bobble-stitch legs and arms or pink. We will crochet a small bow for both variations, but for one, attach it to the head, and for the other, attach it to the neck.

This way, we will have a CUTE and cheerful crochet caterpillar couple. Worked from the bottom up, you can crochet both these plushies in less than an hour. So, continue reading for learning more about your ultimate crochet plush caterpillar project!

Tutorial to Crochet A Pair of Boy and Girl Caterpillar Plushies

To crochet a mini turtle figure, begin by making the upper shell in continuous rounds using green yarn. Next, crochet the flat bottom belly plate using cream yarn and attach it to the shell. Crochet the head, four flippers, and a small tail separately.

Insert safety eyes into the head, then stuff the head and body with fiberfill stuffing to create shape. Finally, sew the head, flippers, and tail securely onto the body to assemble the turtle.

Difficulty Level

  • Level: Easy / Beginner

  • Why: The project relies on basic single crochet stitches worked in simple rounds. The body shapes are simple and small, making it quick to finish. The main challenge is joining the shell pieces and sewing the small flippers neatly onto the body.
