This is the part of my brand-new crochet “spooky cone plushies” series. Today, learn how to crochet your favorite bao bun variation from the crochet Halloween dumpling plushies series. Introducing the crochet plush orange, yellow, and white treat cone plushie in a witch hat, with a FREE written pattern for absolute beginners.
This crochet plush ice cream cone has cute blush on the cheeks as well as the kawaii eyes that are the same as the plush candy corn dumpling.
We are using the same crochet witch hat as used in all the food plushies in this series. Our little crochet plush also has the black cone again, and I think it is the BEST combo. Now, continue reading for learning more about this plush spooky cone!

2. Facial Embroidery
Before working the cone, embroider the face on the white portion of the scoop:
Eyes: Using black DK yarn or embroidery floss, embroider two closed, squinting/happy eyes shaped like “>” and “<“ on Rnds 8–9, spaced about 4 stitches apart.
Mouth: Using black DK yarn, embroider a small, straight horizontal line centered between the eyes.
Cheeks: Using pink yarn or cosmetic blush, add two small oval horizontal cheek spots right beneath the outer edges of the eyes.
Stuff the scoop firmly with fiberfill.
3. Cone (Black Plush Yarn)
Attach black yarn to the first unworked Back Loop (BLO) of Rnd 11 behind the white ruffle.

Stuff the top of the cone firmly, continuing to add fiberfill as you decrease.

Finish: Fasten off, leaving a tail. Thread the tail through the front loops of the remaining 6 stitches, pull tight to close the tip, and weave in the end.

Fasten Off: Cut yarn, leaving a tail for sewing onto the scoop. Attach a small green bell to the rim using a jump ring if desired.
5. Assembly & Finishing Details
Lightly stuff the mini witch hat with fiberfill to maintain its conical shape.
Position the hat at a tilted, jaunty angle over the orange top section of the candy corn scoop.
Using the yarn tail and a tapestry needle, sew the hat securely in place.
If adding a keychain attachment, attach a jump ring through the tip of the hat along with the green jingle bell chain.
Weave in all remaining loose yarn ends inside the plushie.
