This is the 3rd of the crochet “pop-up coaster patterns,” and the 2nd of the flower variations of this UNIQUE and elegant coaster variation. Today, learn how to crochet this decorative, blooming flower mug coaster that cradles a glass and features beautiful ruffled edging. You will be crocheting the Sakura-colored daisy flowers around the coaster. Crochet it as a New Year or spring decoration!
The circular base is crocheted in rounds of double crochet using double-stranded green yarn, naturally forming a slight dome.
A ruffled, petal-like border is added around the edge by working into the front loops only. Five-petal blossoms and small leaves are crocheted separately. Thin craft wire is threaded with a knotted yarn pistil, passed through the flower, wrapped in green yarn, and integrated with a leaf. Finally, the wired stems are sewn onto the coaster’s base and bent upward.

Tutorial to Crochet the Sakura Daisy UNIQUE Coaster
Difficulty Level: Advanced Beginner
The pattern itself relies on basic stitches (magic ring, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and double crochet). However, it requires working into the front loop only (FLO), managing double-stranded yarn, handling small-scale floral components, wrapping craft wire neatly with yarn, and assembling/sewing wired stems onto the crochet base so they can support themselves.
