Today, I am featuring another CUTE crochet plushie from the “no-sew prep and gifting” plushie series! Introducing an oh-so-cute crochet plush miniature sitting buddy sheep that is wearing a little bell ribbon strap and looks SUPER cute. Following a FREE step-by-step tutorial, learn to crochet this UNIQUE plush sheep (part of the “goat plushie series” as well) as a gift.
It is a no-sew goat plush project where all parts, including the legs, arms, ears, tail, and horns, are joined directly into the main body while crocheting. Because of this clever construction technique, separate sewing and assembly steps are completely eliminated at the end of the project.
The finished toy measures approximately 13 centimeters in height from the bottom of the feet to the top of the horns. It can sit on your table, making it a gift and buddy. You can also crochet yours as a Christmas gift by following the same free pattern for all skill levels!
Pattern to Crochet the Plush Baby Sheep with Horns
This tutorial guides us through creating a very cute and soft toy goat using plush yarn.
Difficulty Level
Level: Easy / Beginner-Friendly
Explanation: This project is considered easy because all limbs and facial features are crocheted directly into the body as the work progresses. Since there is no requirement to sew separate arms, legs, ears, or horns onto a finished torso, the traditional challenge of alignment and assembly is completely avoided.
Materials
Plush yarn (approx. 100 g / 120 m) in the main color
Brown yarn for the hooves and horns
Crochet hook (size 4 mm)
Toy stuffing (polyfill)
Safety eyes (size 14 mm)
Black yarn for embroidering facial details (eyelashes, eyebrows, and nose)
A small decorative bell (optional)
Pattern Abbreviations
MR: Magic Ring
SC: Single Crochet
INC: Increase
DEC: Decrease
DC: Double Crochet
CH: Chain
Detailed Stitch Instructions: 5-DC Cluster (Horn Formation)
To shape the horns, a special cluster stitch is formed using five double crochets worked into a single stitch with a common top (vertex):
Yarn is wrapped around the hook, inserted into the designated stitch, and a loop is pulled through.
The yarn is wrapped again and pulled through the first two loops on the hook, leaving the remaining loop on the hook.
This process is repeated four more times in the same stitch so that five unfinished double crochets are created.
Finally, yarn is wrapped around the hook and pulled through all loops on the hook at once to close the cluster into a solid horn shape before switching back to the main yarn color.
