Today, I will be FEATURING another CUTE crochet plush tutorial from the “crochet bird plushies” series! And you will love it for sure, as we are crocheting a chennile yarn duck plushie with three hats following the same 3-in-1 tutorial: a flower hat, a pompom beanie, and a cat beanie. It is a no-sew crochet mommy duck plushie that makes a perfect winter and festive gift!
You crochet the duck’s head and body in one single piece using white plush yarn. As you work down the body, you form the tail, wings, and yellow feet directly using front loops and back loops.
You attach safety eyes, add stuffing, close the base, and crochet the beak onto the face. Finally, you crochet the three hats using different yarn colors and stitch patterns.
Difficulty Level
Intermediate
Why this is the difficulty level:
The project uses fuzzy plush yarn, which makes it hard to see and count individual stitches.
The duck is made with a complex no-sew construction where parts like the wings, tail, and feet are shaped directly into the front loop only (FLO) and back loop only (BLO).
It requires switching hook sizes, working color changes, and using several different stitch types (single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and bobble stitch)

How to Make the Difficult Stitch: Bobble Stitch (Used for the Beanie Pompom)
The bobble stitch is a cluster of partially finished double crochet stitches worked into the same stitch to form a round puff:
Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook).
Yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops (2 loops remain on hook).
Yarn over, insert hook into the same stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop (4 loops on hook).
Yarn over and pull through 2 loops (3 loops remain on hook).
Repeat steps 3 and 4 two to three more times into the exact same stitch until you have 5 to 6 loops on your hook.
Yarn over one last time and pull through all loops on the hook to close the bobble.
