1. Base Sphere (Ball)
Worked in continuous spiral rounds without joining. Use Yellow, Purple, or Red yarn depending on the character.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
Rnd 2: 6 inc [12]
Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) * 6 [18]
Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) * 6 [24]
Rnd 5: 1 sc, (1 inc, 3 sc) * 5, 1 inc, 2 sc [30]
(Staggering increases here keeps the circle perfectly round and prevents hexagonal corners).Rnd 6: (4 sc, 1 inc) * 6 [36]
Rnds 7–12 (6 rounds): 36 sc around [36]
Rnd 13: (4 sc, 1 dec) * 6 [30]
Rnd 14: (3 sc, 1 dec) * 6 [24]
Rnd 15: (2 sc, 1 dec) * 6 [18]
Stuff the sphere firmly and evenly with fiberfill using tweezers or the blunt end of a pen, shaping it into a smooth ball.
Rnd 16: (1 sc, 1 dec) * 6 [12]
Add any final stuffing needed to ensure a firm, round shape.
Rnd 17: 4 to 6 dec until the opening is almost closed.
Cut yarn leaving an 8-inch (20 cm) tail. Thread the tail onto a tapestry needle, pick up only the front loops of the remaining stitches around the opening, pull tightly to cinch shut, knot securely, and hide the yarn tail deep inside the ball.*
2. Purple Devil Emoji
Horns (Make 2)
Use Purple yarn. Worked in continuous rounds. Placing increases on one side creates a natural curve.
Rnd 1: 4 sc in MR [4]
Rnd 2: 1 inc, 3 sc [5]
Rnd 3: 2 inc, 3 sc [7]
Rnd 4: 2 inc, 5 sc [9]
Rnd 5: 2 inc, 7 sc [11]
