By swapping yarn colors and adding accessories—such as Santa’s beard and hat, the snowman’s carrot nose and top hat, the elf’s pointy cap with curls, and the reindeer’s antlers and red snout– you can create a festive collection of handmade ornaments for your Christmas tree.
Each one of them can be crocheted in under 45 minutes using the usual amigurumi techniques. For the crochet legs, you will just use the crochet chain stitch. Reindeer: Entire base in Brown.

2. Dangling Legs (Make 2 per character)
Attach yarn to the bottom of the body:
Pull up a loop of yarn at the bottom base of the toy.
Ch 13.
Cut yarn leaving a tail, thread the tail through a wooden bead, knot it securely at the end to hold the bead in place, and trim excess.
3. Arms & Limbs
A. Santa & Elf Arms (Make 2)
Start in Skin tone:
Rnd 1: 7 sc in MR [7]
Rnds 2–3: 7 sc [7]
Rnd 4: Switch to White (or Black for Elf): 7 sc [7]
Rnds 5–8 (4 rnds): Switch to Red (Santa) or Green (Elf): 7 sc [7]
Rnd 9: Do not stuff. Flatten the opening and crochet 3 sc through both layers to close. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
B. Reindeer & Snowman Arms / Antlers (Make 2)

Repeat (ch 4 to 6, sc back down the chain to base, sl st into next loop) along the front to form curly bangs.

6. Collars, Scarves & Details
A. Elf’s Pointed Collar
In Red:
Create a large loose MR.
Work 10 petals into the ring: (ch 5, starting in 2nd ch from hook: 1 sl st, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, then 1 sc into the magic ring). Repeat 10 times.
Place the ring around the neck and pull tight to fit.
B. Snowman’s Scarf
In Green:
Ch 45 + 2 turning ch.
Starting in 3rd ch from hook, work dc across all chains. Fasten off and tie around neck.
C. Reindeer Collar
In Red:
Ch a length that fits snugly around the neck (approx. 14–16 ch). Join in a ring around the neck with a sl st. Fasten off.
D. Noses
Reindeer Muzzle:
Start in Red:

E. Santa’s Beard
Option 1 (Standard Yarn): Ch 15 to fit around the face, then crochet curly strands of (ch 5 to 7, sc back) across the chain.
Option 2 (Textured Fluffy Yarn – Alize Softy):
Row 1: Ch 15
Row 2: Turn, starting in 2nd ch from hook: 14 sc [14]
Rows 3–8: Ch 1, turn, dec at both edges of each row until tapered to a triangle point.
7. Assembly & Finishing
Santa: Sew arms to the shoulders. Attach beard and hat. Embroider a nose, eyebrows, and a small smile. Glue or attach eyes. Embroider a yellow belt buckle.
Snowman: Sew twig arms to the sides. Sew top hat to head. Attach carrot nose and eyes. Sew 2 small buttons to the belly and tie the green scarf around the neck.
Elf: Sew arms to the shoulders. Place collar around the neck. Sew on the ears and hat. Embroider nose, eyes, smile, and a yellow belt buckle.
Reindeer: Sew arms to the sides. Sew on the red-tipped muzzle, ears, and antlers. Attach eyes, embroider eyebrows, and glue a decorative glitter tree/patch to the belly.
Hanging Loop: Join yarn at the top of each character’s hat or head, chain approx. 40 ch, join back to form a loop, and secure tightly.
