In today’s crochet no-sew buddy plushie tutorial, learn how to crochet a small plush dinosaur with no sewn parts. First, you crochet a small tail. Next, you crochet the lower body, working in the tail and forming two leg bobbles using double crochet clusters.
As you work up the body, you form two arm bobbles.
Next, you crochet the head continuously, making a small white snout and two mini horns just like the dino plushie. Finally, you stuff the head, place safety eyes, sculpt the eye sockets, and crochet back scales using half double crochet shells edged in a contrasting yarn.

A. 3-Double Crochet Cluster / Bobble Stitch (3-dc cluster – Legs & Arms)
Yarn over, insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook).
Yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops (1 unfinished double crochet remains).
Yarn over, insert your hook into the same stitch, yarn over, and pull up a loop (4 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops (2 unfinished double crochets remain).
Yarn over, insert your hook into the same stitch a third time, yarn over, and pull up a loop (5 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops (3 unfinished double crochets remain).
Yarn over and pull through all 4 remaining loops on your hook together to close the cluster.

B. Back Scales Shell Cluster (4 hdc shell)
Attach yarn to the surface posts along the dinosaur’s back.
Work 4 half double crochets into the same post space to form a curved shell fan.
Skip a small space along the back and work a slip stitch to anchor the shell flat.
Repeat this shell pattern down the spine to create the dinosaur back ridges.
