The Stem (Green Yarn)

  1. Attach green yarn with a slip knot directly to the top center of your finished pumpkin body.

  2. Chain 7.

  3. Skip the first 2 chains from your hook (these act as your turning chains).

  4. Work 1 dc into each of the remaining 5 chains back down toward the pumpkin.

  5. Sl st back into the base of the pumpkin body to secure the stem.

  6. Fasten off and weave in the remaining green tails on the back side of the coaster.

Mini Heart Pattern (Make 2)

All stitches are worked directly into a single Magic Ring (also called a sliding loop) to form the heart shape.

  1. Start: Make a Magic Ring.

  2. Ch 2 to begin.

  3. Working directly into the ring, make 2 dc (double crochet).

  4. Next, work 2 hdc (half double crochet) into the ring.

  5. Make 1 dc into the ring (this forms the bottom point of the heart).

  6. Now, mirror the stitches on the other side: work 2 hdc into the ring.

  7. Work 2 dc into the ring.

  8. Ch 2, then work a sl st into the center of the ring to finish the stitches.
